Under
the initial impact assessment study, the human health profile
in respect of incidence of diseases, the likely impact of
project, etc. had been studied. As a matter of precaution,
the measures planned in advance are :
- Surveillance
& Control of Water related diseases and communicable
diseases.
- Surveillance
& Control of Malaria.
A
hospital has been established at Kevadia for workers and labourers.
A laboratory has also been established in the hospital for
entomological studies. To provide better health facilities
to the project affected families residing in the Rehabilitation
sites, a separate Medical Cell has already been established
by Sardar Sarovar Punarvasvat Agency, Vadodara. The State
Department of Health and Family Welfare is also carrying out
extensive health programme for surveillance and control of
Malaria as a matter precaution.
