Denva Branch canal to irrigate 11058 Ha. Of CCA and benefit 22 villages.

Total 11058 ha. CCA of Amod and Vagra talukas of Bharuch district will be benefited by irrigation by the Denva branch canal.

Denva Branch canal, 8.13 km long, off takes at ch. 36.60 km of the Luwara branch canal. Total 22 villages are partly or totally covered for irrigation. Its discharge capacity at head is 7.11 cumecs, while at tail it is 5.626 cumecs. The cross-section of this branch canal at head is 2.25 m X 1.85 m while at tail is 2.25 m X 1.65 m.

Denva branch canal and its distribution system passes through Amod and Vagra talukas of Bharuch district. The works of branch canal have been completed in 1997. The works of distribution system are in progress and planned to be completed by March 2006.

Water for irrigation will be conveyed through a 66000 km network of conveyance and distribution system consisting of branch canals, distributories, minors and sub-minors. It may be mentioned here that total 44 branch canals having length of 2528 km are offtaking from the Narmada Main canal and out of which the work of 1400 km length is completed. Total 690 distributories having length of 5100 kms off take from these 44 branch canals, out of which the works of 1500 km length are completed.
